This course focuses on developing creative and technical skills for the animation, games and digital graphics industries. You will learn how to develop ideas, design characters and environments, and create digital media through a range of practical projects.

You will explore concept development, visualisation and digital production, using industry-relevant tools and techniques to create graphics, animation and interactive media content. The course encourages experimentation, problem solving and creative thinking while helping you build confidence in your practical skills.

    Animation, Games and Graphics You will develop practical skills in creating digital graphics, animation and visual content. This includes generating ideas, designing characters and environments, creating storyboards and developing visual concepts. You will explore techniques used in animation and digital media production, such as asset creation, visualisation and basic animation processes. You will also learn how to develop and present ideas through concept art, design work and digital media projects.

    Personal Development You will explore roles within the creative media industries and develop your own creative practice through practical projects. You will also build confidence in teamwork, communication, organisation and presenting your work.

  • Entry Requirements

    -4 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English and Maths, or -A Level 2 qualification (Merit or Distinction) in a related subject.

    Note: For skills-based qualifications, you might need the skills at Level 2 to enrol at Level 3.

  • Assessment

    Assessment is based on practical coursework. You will complete a range of creative projects and assignments that build a portfolio of work showing the skills you develop during the course.

    Work may include research, planning, practical production, presentations and reflective evaluation. Your projects are assessed using common criteria that focus on investigation, communication, practical skills, development of ideas and your approach to working.

    All assessment is internally set and marked by your tutor and there are no external exams. Grading for this qualification will be at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
